Woke up from a dream like a crashing wave on placid water,
she'd percept those vivid years, convinced of the life she willed, remembered-
but where... was she?
Dappled spots on her scanning eyes, an awful taste- hospital water.
Fluorescent light no sun or sky, Lucy's starting to feel flustered,
and she longs to dream.

She saw a picture no one can find,
and still see's them once awakened.
There were words she had never heard,
but she knew them as they were spoken.

Woke up heart skipping beats, all cold sweat and crashing water.
Condemned by her body's failure,
convinced of strength that she couldn't muster,
oh where... was she?
Dancing shapes on her scanning eyes,
sickened tastes- acid and water,
no safety out beyond her mind.
No freedom there, no light divine.
She longed to dream.
