Well I was just where I was supposed to be, working the straight job- so eager to please. Man, I am just where I thought that I ought to be. Keeping that face on in spite of what I think. It really only takes one second off the cuff, wrong place and time- maybe shitty luck. You might crash and burn or you might have it all, the trouble in your mind will still cast it's shadow long. Man I was just where I was supposed to be, not an easy job knowing when not to speak. Man I am stuck where I know that I have to be, to keep our lights on and be a family.

Sprints 03:38
I know you think that I just bitch and moan, sometimes I fear my mind's a sinking stone. I'm scared of tiny people in my phone, and applications I don't know I own. Seems plain to me that we already all know, that down inside we must feel deeply alone. Going towards the light in little rectangles, heard not one word outside these doors just eyes and ears toward the floor. I might not sound so educated and shrewd, but I'm not so blind I don't see through old abuse. We're all wrapped up together here- don't matter how loose. We got the keys to help each other but don't put them to use. So I sprint to see if we will be eaten by the nothing. So I sprint to see if the future will believe all we've consumed and conceived. I sprint to see if we can ever stop competing. So I sprint to see if we forgot to stop the spinning.

Adjust 03:08
Well what did I do today? I guess I didn't get up to too much. What was it I tried to say? Oh sorry I thought that was new. Tell me what could I do today to slow this draining pace? Oh what could I do today so it doesn't go to waste? Here we are packed on a train. From Adam Lanza to Lebron James. The tracks feel set but not the view, adjust or trust in the taboo. I'm so happy I'm here today, I feel trusted and loved. I don't let pride in the way, would you please just help me get up? Been humbled more than I care to say, so I won't feint just please don't punch. I feel tired and tried today but I'll love you until I'm gray. Here we are packed on this train. The debonair and deranged. The tracks feel set but not the view, adjust it if you need to. Well what did I do today? I guess I didn't get up too much.

Ropes 04:38
To each their own little rope to pull towards distant hopes or dope to dull, the little voice inside your skull telling you "Time's up- so don't try anymore." To each their own little way to be, 'cause we all walk so differently. Survive and strive on concrete seas, deft little dots entering and exiting. It's busy, life. It's business time. Working to save up a dime. Everyday feels like a way to sputter out and struggle, then re-align. Yeah we came into this funny world, it's not funny at all but we make it so- arrogant and hysterical. Reflective of the collective that calls here home. So look up tonight, see all those little lights? You're in the center of a story older than all of them combined. To each their own little rope to pull, towards distant hope- no dope to dull. The little voice inside your skull, telling you "climb up, and take control." To every baby alive since '85- fresher than me and more clear eyed. Be sure you find your way outside, don't get too obsessed with tiny windows. To every elder, sage, and friend I know- that's transitively helped me grow. Called me out and told me "no", don't ever let me eyes turn to empty windows. And to every dream that was ever had, every child and Mom and Dad. Anyone who ever wanted to understand, I hope somewhere you know you are My Hero. So look up tonight, see all those little lights? You're in the center of a story older than all of them combined. So look up tonight, see all these little lives? You're in the center of a story older than all of them combined.

We saw a little light, a little lightning bug in flight. Floating in the night it sang "I have no natural name." It turned back where it came and our short-hairs stood upright. Thoughts rolled like a train as it's specter waned away. The dreams deep in our brains have cost more than we'll ever make. And there's a feeling we can't shake, one that has no natural name. There's dirt over the seeds, resting in the bed we've made. More weight upon the scale on which the stirring Earth will stay.

The Current 06:10
The flower grew up inside your brain, after some rain songs came a new spring. Like water words spilled out on a page, saccharine little lines reaching for meaning. A river married power unto speed, brackish and rushing blind home from Atlantic Beach. Like sediment skeletons nobody sees, our saccharine little lives in all their glory. Feared the current tearing us apart, submerged and still staring at the stars. Baby we were never meant to weigh the worth, of the Earth or the flowers in the dirt.
